Angel Eyes
by Shannon Dittemore
Thots:
This one just needed some more editing. I loved the scenes told from a third-person perspective looking down on Damien and Canann, however, when Dittemore tried to "talk teen," she ended up detailing absolutely everything and using cringe-worthy pop culture references. I do like Dittemore's writing in her less 'genre' moments, but I won't be following the Angel Eyes series.
Monstrous Beauty
by Elizabeth Fama
Thots:
The mermaid book I've been waiting for. Brilliant, haunting and fresh, Monstrous Beauty will hook you from the prologue and refuse to let go from there.
Shadow & Bone
by Leigh Bardugo
Thots:
FABULOUS! Even during the book's weaker moments I was turning page after page, and by the end I was reciting Alina's powerful words out loud.
First Comes Love
by Katie Kacvinsky
Thots:
Been-There-Read-That and the writing didn't captivate me enough to make me want to go there again.
One For the Murphys
by Lynda Mullaly Hunt
Thots:
A wonderful middle-grade debut with a witty, intelligent voice that illustrates the imperfections of Foster life. The resolution that did not end with all perfect, but did, somehow, manage to end perfectly for the story.

Monstrous Beauty and Shadow and Bone sound really good.
I must get my hands on Shadow and Bone. I've been hearing so much about it!
Monstrous Beauty sounds amazing!
