In a way, I like selfish characters too. In a way they seem more... driven, I guess. As I'm writing this I'm thinking of Alona Dare from Stacey Kade's The Ghost and the Goth series. She's the perfect example of what I mean. She's blunt and mean and self-absorbed, self-serving, but without that, the story wouldn't move forward as it did. And you have to admire her as an MC because she's so... determined and headstrong at the same time. And then Stacey goes on to explore this vulnerability and inner softness Alona's got going on too. So, I totally get what you mean!- Asher (from Paranormal Indulgence)
