Blogger Survey Part One! (and Thursday updates)

It's Thurday, time to update you!

First of all, do you love that picture over there? Yeah, that's a Messenger Photography Original, and I will be debuting three others from my Winter Wonderland series on Thursdays in December. I can neither confirm, nor deny, that you will be able to purchase prints in the new year. Well, can't confirm yet, anyway.

Secondly, I am celebrating 2010 going out with a BANG!

Heather at Book Savy and Casey at the Bookish Type have invited everyone to join in a Readathon from December 29-31.
I am going to be completely boring and only put myself down for three books.
I know, I know, that's not even close to my record of four books in a day, but I am starting a new job right before Christmas and I really don't want to get fired for reading under the counter (even though I will be totally reading under the counter.) As of right now I have 26 books/NetGalleys that I would like to have read before January 15th. Eleven of them are 2010 Debut Authors, so from the eleven (I'll list them below) tell me which three you want to see me read!

Your Choices:

The Cinderella Society by Kay Cassidy (I still haven't read my ARC, I am so bad!)

Girl, Stolen by April Henry

The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Forget-Her-Nots by Amy Brecount White

Stork by Wendy Delsol

Losing Faith by Denise Jaden

Birthmarked by Caragh O' Brien

Sorta Like a Rockstar by Matthew Quick

The Agency by Y.S. Lee (why is it that this was the first 2010 debut I got my hands on and yet it remains unread?!)

The Queen's Daughter by Susan Coventry

Thirdly, Eve's Fan Garden is hosting this large (it is rumored there is something like 40 questions in total) Blogger Survey, and this will be your Thursday updates for the next few weeks.

1. Favorite childhood book?
I read the Mandie series by Lois Gladys Leppard and am in the process of buying them all (very hard, due to the books having been out of print when I read them a decade ago.) for the one-day-when-I-have-kiddos-shelf. Mandie was my first literary heroine and I still hold her in my heart.

2. What are you reading right now?

I am reading Forget You by Jennifer Echols and I may, or may not be reading it for that awesome Valentine’s Event I have been mentioning.

3. What books do you have on request at the library?

Split by Swati Avashti and Banished by Sophie Littlefield, both 2010 Debut Authors, I still have time y’all.

4. Bad book habit?

Buying too many of them…? No, not possible.

5. What do you currently have checked out at the library?

Prepare thyself:

Birthmarked by Caragh O’Brien

Cate of the Lost Colony by Lisa M. Klein

Forget-Her-Nots by Amy Brecount White

Girl, Stolen by April Henry

Harmonic Feedback by Tara Kelly

The Mockingbirds by Daisy Whitney

The Queen’s Daughter by Susan Coventry

Sorta Like A Rockstar by Matthew Quick

Stork by Wendy Delsol

6. Do you have an e-reader?

I use NetGalley, but find that it’s a very clinical way of reading. I find myself easily distracted and I have to shove myself back to the laptop to finish the EGalley I start.

7. Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once?

If I pick up another book while in the middle of the book I am ‘Currently Reading,’ well, let’s just say that’s a bad sign.

8. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?

Yes, completely, I feel like I have to remind myself not to be such a cynic while reading a book. I will occasionally obsess over certain elements that weren’t so hot and really miss the heart of the story.

9. Least favorite book you read this year (so far?)

That would be The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg

10. Favorite book you’ve read this year?

Why do people ask this? It should always be a top five, I swear! So my top five looks like this-

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Harmonic Feedback by Tara Kelly

Audrey, Wait! By Robin Benway

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary Pearson

Specials by Scott Westerfeld

Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

Unwind by Neal Shusterman

I mean… people should always ask for our top ten!

FINALLY- I am accepting two e-Reader challenges for 2011. Right now I have 17 NetGalley's I am planning to read and review throughout the year. The Challenges are hosted by The Unread Reader and The Ladybug Reads. I'm not going to list my books now, because I may get more!

These are all the pretty, merry, happy buttons and banners for the events I've been talking about:

I'm so glad you're participating in the Readathon! Thanks for posting about it =) I think I have 11 debuts left too lol. I vote for Anna and the French Kiss (I've heard it's the cutest book ever), The Mockingbirds, and The Cinderella Society =)
