My Summary:
Delaney Collins doesn't believe in fairy tales, even when her father is the fairy godmother she's adamant cannot exist.
My Review:
I was under the distinct impression that this book was a contemp story revolving around a cynical girl who "didn't expect magic," to happen in her life.
In fact, the first fifty pages or so were 100% contemp teenage-drama, complete with a mother dead of cancer and a father who expected to welcome a six year old into his home.
It was pretty good.
Then the story took the sharpest turn about I've ever read and the whole thing became so laughable, I just couldn't carry on.
The book became a joke I wasn't in on.
It was pretty bad.
Anything thin and pointy can be a wand? The "FG" gene is recessive? And instead of a fairy godmother who is a woman, Delaney's dad is an FG that is a dude? Really?
I hope you can all forgive me for not continuing on with this story. I know some of you get annoyed when I review books that I didn't read to the end, but can you really blame me?

Notes on the Names:
Never really loved the name Delaney, mostly because I had a friend Dlaina, and she hated when people called her the former.
Thoughts on the Cover:
It's awesome; one of the reasons I wish this had just continued being a kick-butt contemp!

Parental Book Review *spoilers*
Sexual Content:
I will make a guess that a basic kiss will follow the story. The book didn't have a "passionate," or "romantic" tone.

Violence:
None & foreseeably none for the rest of the book.
Other Notables:
This book would doesn't come off as a hard-hitting high school drama. I doubt anyone will drink, or go to parties, or do drugs. It just wasn't that kind of a book.
Mother dies of cancer.

Oh, that is just sad. Because I thought this was gonna be good and I really want to read it.
Thanks so much for this review. I had this book on my TBR, but I took it off. I don't like books that twist into frivolous and silly stories. :(
Wow...it looks like it would be so cute...but that sounds just ridiculous!!
