My Summary:

The Anglophile’s Guide to Baby Naming

My Review:

Another UK baby name book! Hmm... should that be telling you something about my characters? A clue- yes.

Again, Linda and Pam have not led me wrong once and any good Name Nerd needs to be on Nameberry.

I love these quintessential British monikers and really feel like the author duo brought something awesome to the table by discussing the mercurial habits of British Mummies who are always concerned about class- and the change in class- of a name. On the flip side the argument was very subjective to the timing, in this case the early 90’s, so you have to take the name lists with a grain of salt.

This is the book I would most like to see Pam and Linda update for the modern mommy, or author! I think they should call it Beyond Will & Kate!

Notes on the Names:

In honor of the Royal Wedding I have been obsessing over Phillipa, called Pippa, and her name! The beautiful Maid-of-Honor to big sister, Princess Katherine, has the most adorably British name and nick name. I would name a character Phillipa!

Thoughts on the Cover:

It’s funny! The baby boy is knocking on the door like they just arrived via stork! I love that the covers all match each other in this set.

Oh, and this book sounds so cute! I love British names. Briony/Bryony is a favorite :)
