My Summary:

Having bound herself to the Winter Court in a bargain struck between herself and the distant Winter Prince, Ash, Meghan Chase finds herself with a broken heart in the middle of a war between the courts. 

Iron is moving, technology advancing and Meghan is unsure where she fits in the the world of the Fey; all she knows is she must finish what she started.

My Review:

Remember how I said that The Iron King would probably be my least favorite of the Fey series? Well, after progressing to Winter’s Passage, and now to The Iron Daughter, I have to say I think that was a very accurate statement. 

Until Iron Daughter I was aware the series was popular, I could see why, but had yet to really connect to any of the characters, or be fully captivated by the adventure. Now I am addicted and cannot wait for the next to installments, The Iron Queen, and The Iron Knight, which is Ash’s tale. 

I found myself reading sections out loud, especially when Meghan spoke to Ash, she became powerful in this book and I loved her words. Hats off to Kagawa, I’m an Iron Convert!

I can’t say much more without spoiling things, but I will say I cried at the ending, which was completely unexpected and a wonderful surprise! Also, given the way Kagawa ended things I have no thoughts on where the characters go from here.

Notes on the Names: No new names, only Leanansidhe, wow, what a cool mouthful and Charles, which is the name Lea gives to all her performing humans. 

Thoughts on the Cover: It’s Icy. Meghan’s expression is very wistful, and sad and she isn’t looking at the reader, but at a “distant horizon” which showcases the drama behind the cover. 

Parental Book Review *spoilers*

Sexual Content: 

Mild, there are some earth-shattering kisses between Meghan and Ash, as well as Meghan and Puck.

Meghan also considers bringing Puck back to her room to, “Finish what we started.” But doesn’t act on it. 

Language: 

Moderate, no F-Bombs, but Meghan does swear like a sailor sometimes.

Violence:

The characters are fighting two very different wars, one is fought Faerie to Faerie, the other is Meghan against the Iron Fey.

Other Notables: Queen Mab imprisons Meghan in an ice block and Meghan narrates how it feels to suffocate.

Rowan, Ash’s brother, tries to tempt Meghan into kissing him.

Faerie Magic, such as Glamour, is used often.
