IMM (14) Eclectic

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme created by Kristi, The Story Siren, who is beautiful and wonderful and has amazing books!

From NetGalley:

Bless This Mouse by Lois Lowry (Gathering Blue was dysopian before dysopian was dysopian, you have to love this woman!)

I bought:
I got two beautiful new journals, aren’t they lovely? And great for writing down dreamy story ideas! Yeah, I’m one of those bloggers who wants to write a book or two, so sue me! (I’ve begun writing my first YA novel!)

Two new baby name books to add to my collection! No, I’m not pregnant, but I am a name lover and I study the science of names, also called and Omnastatist and Omnastics. I help people name their children on Nameberry.com, please e-mail me if you are interested in a private consultation! Bellacarolina33@aim.com

Angels In Pink: Raina’s Story by Lurlene McDaniel

Letting Go of Lisa by Lurlene McDaniel (I read my library’s copy, and now have my own! Lisa was one of my very favorite McDaniel sacrifices, someone always dies in her books. It’s hardback…)

Philippa Fisher’s Fairy Godsister by Liz Kessler (I loved the Emily Windsnap books!)

Radical by David Platt (It was recommended by several of my Set-Apart friends)

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson (I got this in honor of banned-book week and the controversy surrounding this book. I don’t support banned books, I think we should question morals, ethics, right and wrong and absolute truth ourselves. I read this book a very long time ago and I think I was too young to really get it, I’m looking forward to re-reading it.)

Ten Cents A Dance by Christine Fletcher (I have wanted this book for two years, and now it’s here! I want my engagement shots to look just like that!)

Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder (I love dysopian era novels, and have heard great things, so I can’t wait!)

If You Come Softly by Jacqueline Woodson (I love this book, but I’ve been holding out for this cover, and now I have it, though this book isn’t written in verse, it reads like soft, beautiful poetry. BTW, a new cover, one I LOVE was just released...sigh...)

The Somebodies by N.E. Bode (I love this series and N.E. Bode, one of my very favorites and I am thrilled to have the third book!)

Pure by Terra Elan McVoy (I’m already worried about this, as a purity ring wearer, the “practice” is more to me than a fashion statement, or a chastity belt, it’s something I do for the one I love and for God, I don’t want this book to become a mockery of something I take so seriously. As a bonus, I’ll show you my ring!)

Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman (I read this one a year ago and finally got my own copy, I love this book so much, it’s a great inspired-by Jane Austen book)

So a very interesting week, one I am happy with! What did you get in your mailbox? Let me know in the comments.

Congrats on starting your YA novel!! The journals are beautiful! I love the "dream" journal with her long flowing hair.

Great books this week! I've been meaning to pick up Enthusiasm after reading The Grimm Legacy by this author.

Good luck with your book.
